Dopo trent'anni di discussioni il Brasile approva la riforma del fisco. La decisione storica definirà un nuovo sistema fiscale nel Paese sudamericano, sono ancora in discussione alcuni emendamenti minori. Il governo Lula ha accolto come una vittoria l'approvazione della riforma.
Il Parlamento brasiliano ha approvato nella serata di ieri una riforma fiscale che semplificherà la riscossione delle imposte da parte di imprese e consumatori. Si tratta di una decisione storica che arriva dopo 30 anni di discussioni. La riforma è stata approvata in due votazioni e con una maggioranza qualificata di oltre due terzi. Il progetto di legge inoltre comporterà l'introduzione di un nuovo sistema fiscale basato sull'imposta sul valore aggiunto.
Restano da discutere alcuni emendamenti minori. In caso le modifiche vengano respinte, l'iter parlamentare sarà completato e il testo verrà promulgato per la sua entrata in vigore. Tuttavia ci vorrà ancora qualche anno per l'introduzione a pieno regime del nuovo sistema fiscale poiché si è scelto di procedere gradualmente.
Si tratta di una vittoria per il presidente Lula, eletto un anno fa, dato che sarà la sua amministrazione a superare l'attuale modello fiscale, ritenuto troppo complesso e datato. Sono due gli obiettivi della riforma: superare la burocrazia nel giro di qualche anno e migliorare la situazione economica.
