Saviors, il nuovo album dei Green Day è ufficialmente fuori. Per festeggiare questo nuovo ed elettrizzante traguardo, la band ha pubblicato il videoclip ufficiale di Bobby Sox, traccia numero tre del disco di genere punk-rock/alternative.

La canzone è stata scritta da Billie Joe Armstrong, leader del trio composto da Mike Dirnt al basso e Trè Cool alla batteria e racconta della presunta bisessualità del cantante. Prodotta Rob Cavallo (My Chemical Romance - The Black Parade e Linkin Park - Burn it Down) come l'intero Saviors, è un brano sul sentirsi liberi di amare senza alcuna discriminazione di sesso, razza o genere.

"Bobby Sox", oltre ad essere il titolo del singolo, prende in prestito il nome da un modello di calze molto in voga negli anni '40 e '50 ed indossate da donne e ragazze della middle class americana appassionate di musica pop e di ballo. In quel periodo, le danze venivano organizzate in palestre nelle scuole superiori e nei college.

Per ballare senza danneggiare i pavimenti in legno duro, le donne si toglievano le scarpe e ballavano soltanto con i calzini.
